Protection against germs, abrasions and stains

A vinyl protective coating designed to form a tough barrier against the three biggest problems in healthcare and hospitality environments: germs, abrasions and stains. It is invisible and cannot be felt, yet it extends the material’s service life and keeps it looking good with minimal care.

Protection against germs

PERMABLOK 3® helps keep germ counts down for a more hygienic environment. It also guards against surface growth of fungus, mould and mildew spores, which can cause unpleasant odours, pink and black stains and even allergic reactions. Vinyl protected with PERMABLOK 3® keeps its appearance and remains highly resistant to deterioration such as cracking, splitting and loss of flexibility, providing hygienic, cosmetic and structural protection for healthcare and hospitality use.

Virucidal activity

PERMABLOK 3® is an effective barrier against viruses, as certified by:

ISO 18184: reduction of Coronavirus* presence by more than 90% within one hour of contact.
ISO 21702: reduction of Coronavirus* activity by 99,9% within 24 hours of exposure on the surface.

Bacteriostatic properties

PERMABLOK3® keeps upholstered surfaces free from bacteria, as certified by:

ISO 22196: value of antibacterial** activity R>2.

* Testing was conducted with material exposed to Feline Coronavirus (same coronaviridae family, with structures and mechanisms similar to SARS-CoV-2).

** Testing was conducted with material exposed to Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Anti-stain protection

When caught quickly, most everyday stains such as grease, blood, suntan lotion, crayon and ketchup can be wiped off vinyl protected with PERMABLOK3® using mild soap and water. If any build-up cannot be removed with soapy water, as a last resort use a mixture of 1 part isopropyl alcohol to 1 part water. (Regular use of alcohol can affect the properties of the product. Avoid abrasive household cleaners and steel wool.)

Antifungal protection

PERMABLOK3® provides antifungal protection, resisting gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, filamentous fungi and yeast.
